Breaking News - Construction Permit Granted!
On Thursday March the 10th, 2011, the FCC granted a Construction Permit to Mount Saint Francis Hermitage, Inc. to upgrade our existing station, WHVM, from 275W Effective Radiated Power (ERP) with our antenna at 55' above ground level to a huge 4900W ERP with the antenna 185' above ground level and with a Directional Antenna pointed towards Binghamton.
This is great news and we are very excited about this opportunity to expand our coverage area - see Google Map Below - this map shows the City Grade Contour (60dBu).
As you can see, the City Grade Contour reaches just outside of Binghamton, which means that you will easily be able to pick up the station in Binghamton itself - stay tuned!

Breaking News - We are on the Air!
On the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, we officially launched our radio station, Holy Virgin Mary Radio, WHVM 91.9FM Owego, NY. Fr. Johannes Michael Mary Smith, the father guardian of Mt. St. Francis Hermitage, gave the homily at the Mass in thanksgiving for this enormous event - the launch of the first radio station owned and operated by the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in the USA.
Thanks be to God, His Most Holy Mother, Glorious St. Joseph, and all the other Saints who have interceded on our behalf for the successful launch of this radio station.

Holy Virgin Mary Radio
“Joanna,” in San Francisco, had decided to commit suicide. As she was driving to the place she had chosen for ending her life, she turned up her car radio. Her hand slipped and she accidentally changed the station. She had inadvertently tuned into a Catholic radio program in which Fr. John Corapi was preaching about suicide. The Word of God was preached. She heard the Word and paid heed to it. Divine Grace touched her soul. She responded to that moment of Grace and turned her car around. Now she has turned her whole life around. “Faith then comes by hearing; and hearing by the Word of Christ” (Rom 10:17).
Catholic radio changes lives and saves souls. In the annals of Catholic radio, there are numerous stories of conversion, forgiveness and rebirth. The positive influence of Catholic radio on the communities they serve cannot be ignored, and we now have the opportunity to bring that influence to the area of Owego, NY.
The Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate at Mt. St. Francis Hermitage, located in Maine, NY, have been granted a permit to build an FM Radio Station, broadcasting at a frequency of 91.9 MHz with the Community of License in Owego, NY. The station is expected to reach over 125,000 souls.
The Church is engaged in a fierce battle for the salvation of souls, and victory is imperative. Holy Virgin Mary Radio will soon be stepping up to the front lines of that battle, bringing the message of Grace and Salvation to many, many souls. “This is good, and it is acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, Who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of truth” (1Tim 2:4).
We have placed the station beneath the mantle and protection of the Immaculate Mother of God, and so we have named it WHVM, “Holy Virgin Mary Radio.” Our mission is to bring the Holy Virgin Mary to every heart that beats on the face of the earth, so that She may erect the Throne of Her Son therein. Our desire is to use the powerful medium of Catholic radio to bring the One who “crushes the head of Satan” into the fray and start winning lost souls back to Christ.
There is a sense of urgency here, and we need your help to raise $200,000 to make Our Lady's station a reality. We have opted for a two stage construction plan: the “minimum facility” (first stage) will be on air by May 31, 2010, and the “full power” station (second stage) will launch by Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011.
